But the malware has been resurfacing every now and then. In last few weeks, the scam has again returned to haunt unsuspecting users. In recent attacks, over 10,000 accounts have been compromised. The idea to lure FB user is based on the fact that FB website, mobile app and messenger are all based on a blue color scheme. The malware asks the FB users to download an app from a URL similar to the one given below: If downloaded, this “app” redirects users to a phishing site where the app asks you to grant it access into your Facebook account. It tells you that once granted access, it will show a video tutorial on how to change the color scheme of your FB profile. As soon as you grants access —malware connects to your friend list and sends further notifications to spread itself. You must not click on any link, email, FB message, FB notification that offers you to change the color of your FB profile. Oh come on !!! There is NO official, risk-free and easy method to change Facebook profile’s color scheme. Period.
